Christmas in Paris — it’s a time of real magic! If you come to Paris with children during the Christmas holidays, they will certainly be completely charmed by the dazzling Christmas decorations. Here your children can send a letter to Santa Claus and put it into one of the special postboxes, set up all over the city. They can also ride on the «Grande Roue» (like London’s Big Eye) at Place de la Concorde, take lessons in the «School of magic» and «School of cuisine» in the Jardin de l’Acclimatation. In Paris your children will be able to toboggan in Santa-Claus’s sleigh!
Did you know that during the Christmas holidays, from 20 December 2014 to 4 January 2015, all the merry-go-rounds in Paris are free? There are also many New Year fairs all over the city. Here you can buy all types of toys, souvenirs and dainties from different regions of France. Grown-ups will drink mulled wine, and children meanwhile eat pancakes, see the puppet shows and even have a ride on Santa’s sleigh!
The most famous Paris Christmas Fair extends several kilometers along the Champs Elysees. At the beginning of the Champs Elysees, at Place de la Concorde, you’ll find the highest Paris observation wheel. It is set here only during the winter period, and it is taken down every spring. Don’t be afraid of children freezing, the cabins are heated. From the wheel you’ll get a magic view over shining Christmas Paris, the lights along the Champs Elysees, and the Eiffel Tower.
In my next post — don’t miss it — I’ll tell you about the best Paris skating rinks and the most beautiful New Year tree in Paris.
